Description

This course introduces different e-learning environments and e-learning tools and explores ways learning theories can be applied in e-learning design. By the end of this course, you’ll have the ability to design a blended or online learning environment with modules for learning content aimed at different target groups.

Objectives

  • Gain an overview of the different possibilities and functionalities of e-learning environments.
  • Develop the ability to critically analyze and assess the didactical effect of an e-learning environment.
  • Understand learning design principles.
  • Develop the ability to design and implement e-learning environments.
  • Apply learning and multimedia theories for the selection and development of e-learning environments.
  • Apply e-learning to support relevant educational innovation projects.

Chang Zhu

Dr. Chang Zhu

Professor

Dr. Chang Zhu is Professor of Educational Sciences at VUB. Her research focuses on the use of educational innovation in schools and in higher education and the study of related cultural, contextual and individual variables. She has been teaching the course “E-learning environments and e-learning design” for the Master in Educational Sciences program at the VUB. Prof. Zhu is leading several key research projects focusing on e-learning, online and blended learning.

Instructor

Daria Bogdanova graduated in 2010 from Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics, Master of Engineering in Information Systems and Technologies program. In 2010, Daria began working as an online tutor and in the course of her everyday work, developed deep interest in educational sciences and integration of information systems and education. As an e-learning course designer, she has participated in development of e-learning materials for several courses and provided students with guidelines and assistance for the E-Learning Environments and E-learning Design course at the VUB.
