Description

A unique introduction to Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), a newly established system of psychotherapy developed by Professor Paul Gilbert OBE from the University of Derby's College of Health and Social Care and a world renowned Clinical Psychologist. Ideally suited to counsellors, psychotherapists and health and social care practitioners, the course will provide you with enough knowledge and understanding of CFT to allow you to start to apply its basic techniques in your professional practice.

Objectives

  • Learn what Compassion Focused Therapy is, and about its evolution. This includes looking at the evolutionary and biological framework of our brain and body in order to understand how we develop psychopathology, and how compassion works for it.
  • Learn how Compassion Focused Therapy has been applied to various symptoms and other issues. You will be introduced to the latest research findings as the research field of CFT has been developing rapidly.
