The Stavros Center for Economic Education of Florida State University (FSU) and Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship of Northern Michigan University will offer a six week cutting-edge, online course in economics and personal finance. Developed by a team of master economic educators, this course is for students who would like to learn more about economics, wealth and prosperity. This 16 module, multi-media course is understandable, easy to navigate, and focuses on what you really need to know about economics and personal finance. It will be taught by a seasoned online instructor.

Tawni Hunt Ferrarini, Ph.D.
Sam M. Cohodas Professor, Professor of Economics, and Co-director for the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship
Tawni H. Ferrarini, director of external affairs, is the Sam M. Cohodas Professor at Northern Michigan University (NMU). She also co-directs the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship. Her teaching, research, and service to the profession focus on the use of technology in the classroom and the integration of economics across subjects and settings. She regularly instructs a variety of online courses and conducts a multitude of hybrid K-12 workshops. She annually visits Japan to help grow the Council for Economic Education there. For this and other work, the U.S. Council for Economic Education recently honored her with the 2012 Albert Beekhuis Center Award. Additionally, she is the inaugural recipient of the 2009 National Association of Economic Educator's Abbejean Kehler Technology Award and a 2009 recipient of an NMU Distinguished Faculty Award. She is a co-author of Common Sense Economics: What Everyone Should Know About Wealth and Prosperity. She also publishes in articles in journals and writes op-eds for newspapers. She earned her doctorate in economics from Washington University, where she studied under the 1993 Nobel laureate Douglass C. North. She can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
