Starts January 12, 2015

This self-paced course provides participants with the opportunity to explore, assess, and document learning mastered through a variety of life experiences. You will be challenged to think holistically and critically about your skills, knowledge, and performance capabilities as they relate to college-level and professional-based learning. Participants will use social media to build personal learning networks that support collaborative learning and cooperative engagement. The focus is on identifying college-level content and preparing an experiential learning portfolio.

For $150, you may submit your experiential learning portfolio for review at Bellevue University. If the portfolio is awarded at least one credit, you will receive two credits for completion of this course at no extra charge.

  • Week One: Self Assessment (Inventory)
  • Week Two: Exploration (Honing Skills)
  • Week Three: Documentation (Research)
  • Week Four: Looking Forward (Survey the Land)
  • Week Five: Building and Organizing
  • Week Six: Reviewing and Revising

Dr. Michelle Kempke Eppler

Dean of Bellevue University’s College of Continuing & Professional Education

Dr. Eppler has been an educator and lifelong learner. As a global citizen, she is driven by the chance to transform and support learners through education. Dr. Eppler has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Programs/Latin American Studies from Drake University, a Master’s Degree in Counseling: College Student Personnel from the University of Nebraska, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri.

Dr. Eppler is the Dean of Bellevue University’s College of Continuing & Professional Education and has served the University in numerous roles over the past 11 years. Active in the Bellevue community, Dr. Eppler has been awarded the Midlands Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award in 2008, the Omaha World Herald’s Sarpy County “Suburban Under 40” award in 2010 and currently serves on the Kids Can Community Center Board of Directors.
